Anaerobic Treatment and Biogas Production from Organic Waste
Organic wastes under consideration are of natural origin that possess biochemical characteristics ensuring rapid microbial decomposition at relatively normal operating conditions. When considering the organic waste treatment we have generally in mind organic mineralization, biological stabilisation and detoxification of pollutants. Most common organic wastes contain compounds that are mainly we...

متن کاملPretreatment Methods of Organic Wastes for Biogas Production
During biogas production, the rate-determining step for the conversion of complex organic matter is the hydrolysis. Different pretreatment methods aid in facilitating the anaerobic digestion by increasing the rate of organic matter hydrolysis. This in effect results in enhanced production of biogas and aids in waste stabilization as well as disposal. This review gives an overview of the methods...
متن کاملEffects of organic loading rate on biogas production from macroalgae: Performance and microbial community structure.
Macroalgae biomass has been considered as a promising feedstock for biogas production. In order to improve the efficiency of anaerobic digestion (AD) of macroalgae, semi-continuous fermentation was conducted to examine the effects of organic loading rate (OLR) on biogas production from Macrocystis pyrifer. Results showed that, under OLRs of 1.37, 2.74, 4.12 and 6.85kgVSsubstrate/(m3·d), the ave...
متن کاملDraft Genome Sequence of Kurthia huakuii LAM0618T, an Organic-Pollutant-Degrading Strain Isolated from Biogas Slurry
Kurthia huakuii LAM0618(T) is a facultative anaerobic pollutant-degrading bacterium isolated from biogas slurry. An analysis of the draft genome sequence of LAM0618(T) reveals a genome size of 3,585,165 bp, with a mean G+C content of 39.1%. The genome contains 3,560 coding sequences and 112 tRNA and 33 rRNA genes.
